Wasenhaus Hohlen Spätburgunder Landwein 2024 Red Wine
Wasenhaus Hohlen Spätburgunder Landwein Tinto 2024 is a red wine made by Wasenhaus in Baden, Germany, specifically in the Zunzinger Rosenberg, in the Markgräflerland area.
It is a single-variety Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) sourced from a parcel with poor, shallow limestone-derived soils, facing southwest. The vineyard is planted with different German clones, and approximately half of the vines are over 60 years old.
The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented using around 80% whole clusters. The wine initially undergoes carbonic maceration before continuing with spontaneous fermentation in an open-top vat, with only a few pigeages.
The wine is then aged for approximately 15 months in used French oak barrels.
