André Perret Merlot Syrah Tinto 2018
André Perret Merlot Syrah Red 2018 is a red wine produced by André Perret in Verlieux-Chavany, in the Rhône Valley.
The wine is a blend of Merlot (60%) and Syrah (40%). The Merlot comes from sandy soils on gentle slopes, with vines around 20 years old, while the Syrah is sourced from a single estate with granite soils and vines averaging 40 years of age.
The grapes are destemmed and fermented separately using indigenous yeasts, initially in stainless steel tanks. The wine then undergoes 12 months of aging in old French oak barrels before being blended prior to bottling.
The wine is neither filtered, fined, nor stabilized, preserving its natural character and expression.
