António Madeira Vinhas Velhas Red 2020 is a red wine produced by António Madeira in the Serra da Estrela subregion of the Dão appellation, Portugal.
The wine is a blend of Jaen, Tinta Amarela, Baga and more than 20 native grape varieties sourced from old vineyards planted on granite soils. The vines range from 50 to 100 years of age and come from small plots farmed using sustainable and biodynamic practices.
The wine is then aged for approximately 18 months in used French and Austrian oak barrels, followed by a period of refinement in stainless steel tanks before being bottled unfiltered and unfined.
An elegant and profound wine that reflects the freshness, minerality and complexity of the historic vineyards of Serra da Estrela.
