Azores Wine Company Antonio Maçanita Erupçao Volcanica 2019 Red Wine
Azores Wine Company Erupção Vulcânica Red 2019 is a red wine crafted by António Maçanita on the island of Pico Island, in the Azores.
It is a field blend of up to eight different native grape varieties, with Touriga Nacional, Malvasia, Tinta Carvalha, and Bastarda making up the majority of the blend.
Approximately 30% of the grapes are destemmed while 70% are fermented whole cluster. The wine undergoes a one-month skin maceration and ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts.
Aging is carried out over 30 months, combining stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels.
