Candelario 2025 Red Wine
Candelario Tinto 2025 is a red wine made by Michael Candelario in Puntagorda, in the northwest of La Palma, Canary Islands, under the La Palma DO. It is made from native grape varieties, mainly Negramoll, Listán Negro and Listán Prieto, sourced from family-owned plots with vines of varying ages, some over a century old. The vineyards are planted on terraced slopes at altitudes between 1,200 and 1,450 metres, on volcanic soils composed of basaltic clay and reddish stones.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine is transferred to used French oak barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages for seven to eight months on its fine lees.
It is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with a small addition of sulphur dioxide.
