La Perdida Raiña Tinto 2024 is a red blend made from 70% Merenzao and 30% Mencía, sourced from the municipality of Albaredos in Valdeorras. The vineyards are planted on slate soils.
La Perdida is one of the most natural and wild wineries in Galicia. The grapes macerate with their skins for 5 days before fermenting in stainless steel tanks.
The wine is aged for 6 months in used French oak barrels. It is a fresh and light, rosé-like, natural and crunchy wine.
This is the first vintage of the wine after a disastrous 2023 affected by mildew, and for now, it will also be the last. The wildfires that struck Galicia in 2025, just before harvest, erased this new vintage from history. We’ll see in the coming years whether the vineyard manages to survive…
