Raices Das Bouzas 2019 Red Wine

Raíces das Bouzas Tinto 2019 is a red wine produced by Castrelo das Pedras 1836 in the D.O. Ribeiro, Galicia, Spain.

The wine is a blend of Sousón (57%), Mencía (30%), Caíño Longo (9%) and Brancellao (4%), sourced from vineyards located in the hamlet of As Bouzas, in Castrelo de Miño. The vines are planted on a combination of granite, slate and mineral-rich soils containing iron, graphite, mica and other minerals.

The grapes are harvested by hand during the first half of October. Alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts over 12 to 15 days. The wine is then aged for six months on its lees in seasoned French oak vats, enhancing complexity while preserving the purity of the fruit and terroir. Production is limited to approximately 2,000 bottles.
