Mai & Kenji Hodgson Faia 2023 White Wine
Mai & Kenji Hodgson Faia White 2023 is a white wine produced by Mai & Kenji Hodgson in Anjou-Saumur, Bellevigne-en-Layon, in the Loire Valley.
It is a single-varietal Chenin Blanc, sourced from 50- and 100-year-old vineyards known as “Le Clos de Vigneau” and “Le Clos des Grands Champs”, planted on clay-sandy soils of schist and spilite (volcanic rock).
The wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in small oak barrels (20% of which are new) and foudres.
Ageing takes place in these same vessels on its own lees, unfiltered, and without the addition of sulphites.
