Envinate Lousas Tinto 2024

Envínate Lousas 2024 is a red wine produced in the heart of Ribeira Sacra by Envínate Winery. The wine is mainly made from Mencía (95%), blended with other local varieties from old vineyards (around 60 years old). The vineyard soils are slate, known locally as “lousas.”

The grapes are hand-harvested with selection in the vineyard. Each parcel is vinified separately in small open-top vats. Whole-cluster maceration is carried out with 40% of the stems, using indigenous yeasts

Spontaneous fermentation takes place in neutral French oak barrels. The wine is aged for 11 months on its own lees in neutral oak barrels of different sizes. The grapes are handled without racking and without the addition of sulfites.
