Fedellos do Couto Torpedo Red 2024 is a red wine produced by Fedellos do Couto outside any appellation of origin, in Valdeorras, Galicia, Spain.
The wine is a single-varietal Brancellao sourced from small mountain vineyards planted on granitic sandy soils with quartzite deposits. The vines range from five to fifteen years of age.
The grapes are harvested by hand and the winemaking begins with a pre-fermentation maceration followed by whole-cluster fermentation with indigenous yeasts at low temperatures. After a long forty-day maceration, the wine is aged for 12 months in a used 500-litre French oak barrel and an 800-litre oval French oak cask.
Production is limited to just 1,300 bottles.
