Prieuré Saint Jean de Bébian Pautel 2023 Red Wine

Prieuré Saint Jean de Bébian Pautel Red 2023 is a red wine from the Languedoc region, in Pézenas, southern France.

The wine is a single-varietal Syrah.

Shaped by several key phases. In the 1970s, Alain Roux restructured the vineyard using massal selections of Rhône a including Syrah from Domaine Chave, Mourvèdre from Domaine Tempier and Grenache from Château Rayas. In 2009, the domaine was acquired by the Pumpyanskiy family, and since 2015, under Benoît Pontenier, it has moved towards a fresher, more precise style, with biodynamic practices and the influence of Jura winemaker Jean-François Ganevat.

Vinification involves fermentation followed by aging on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks for around 15 months, aiming to preserve purity, freshness and varietal expression.
