Ratapoil, Raphael Monnier, L’Ingénu 2023 is a single-varietal red wine made from Pinot Noir by Raphael Monnier under the AOC Arbois, Jura, France.
The grapes are hand-destemmed, followed by a 15-day maceration. The juice is then transferred to vats for one year, and subsequently aged for an additional year in old barrels.
This unfiltered wine, made with no added sulfites, shows a robust yet elegant structure. It displays floral aromas, wild berries, and a subtle touch of leather.
It has excellent ageing potential, with an optimal drinking window of 4 to 8 years.
“Ratapoil” is a colloquial French term often used pejoratively to refer to someone seen as a mere amateur or non-professional.
