Raúl Bello Azel 2020 Red Wine
Raúl Bello Azel 2020 is a red wine crafted by Raúl Bello in the municipality of Leza (specifically from the Montecillo plot, La Rioja). The vineyard soils are covered with gravel and trained using a trellis system, It is a single-varietal wine made from Tempranillo.
The winemaking process is entirely natural. Once harvested, the grapes are taken directly to the winery, where two-thirds are immediately processed. The grapes are traditionally foot-trodden, and 100% of the stems are kept. The cap is gently punched down by hand twice a day. After 8 days of maceration, the wine is pressed.
Malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously. Part of the wine is aged for 7 months in the same barrels used for fermentation.
Limited production of only 387 bottles.
