Viña Somoza Taté Tinto 2019
Viña Somoza Taté Red 2021 is a red wine produced by Bodegas Viña Somoza in As Ermitas, within the Valdeorras appellation in Galicia, Spain.
The wine is a blend of Mencía, Garnacha Tintorera, Grao Negro and Merenzao sourced from three old vineyards between 85 and 115 years of age, located at 550 to 600 metres above sea level on granite soils in Alto Bibei.
The grapes are harvested by hand in small boxes and processed on the same day they are picked. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts under controlled temperatures, with long cold macerations using a combination of destemmed grapes and whole clusters.
The wine is then aged for 12 months in 500-litre French oak barrels.
