Antonio Madeira Vinhas Velhas Blanco 2019
António Madeira Vinhas Velhas Branco 2019 is a white wine produced by António Madeira in the Serra da Estrela subregion of the Dão appellation, Portugal.
The wine is a blend of Siria, Fernão Pires, Bical, Encruzado, Arinto, Cerceal and other native grape varieties sourced from more than 20 old vineyards located between 500 and 600 metres above sea level on granite soils. The vines range from 50 to 120 years of age.
Fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. Approximately 50% of the wine ferments in 500-litre barrels, while the remainder ferments in stainless steel tanks.
The wine is then aged for almost two years, combining used French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and terroir expression.
