Barranco Oscuro Cardonohay 2024 White Wine
Barranco Oscuro Cardonohay Blanco 2021 is a white wine made by Bodega Barranco Oscuro in the Sierra de la Contraviesa, Granada, Andalusia.
It is a single-variety Chardonnay, sourced from small plots located between 1,250 and 1,300 metres above sea level, on slate and clay soils. The vines, planted between 1989 and 1996, are farmed naturally and without chemical products. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts.
The wine is then aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. It is bottled unfiltered and without the addition of SO₂. The combination of high altitude, poor slate soils and ageing in oak results in a mountain Chardonnay with good freshness, structure and depth.
