Mas Candí Tort Brut Nature 2020 Sparkling Wine
Mas Candí Tort Sparkling Wine 2020 is a white sparkling wine produced by Celler Mas Candí in Les Gunyoles, Avinyonet del Penedès, Catalonia.
It is a 100% Xarel·lo, sourced from a small plot of just 0.3 hectares, with vines over 100 years old, trained as bush vines on clay-limestone soils. The vineyards are organically farmed and the grapes are harvested by hand.
Alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in used acacia barrels, where the base wine undergoes 12 months of ageing.
The second fermentation takes place in the bottle using the traditional method. The sparkling wine ages for 60 months on its lees in bottle before disgorgement, which takes place three months before release. It is bottled as Brut Nature.
