Clos Rougeard Le Clos 2020 Red Wine

Clos Rougeard Le Clos Rougeard Le Clos Red 2020 is a red wine produced by Clos Rougeard in the Saumur-Champigny appellation, located in France’s Loire Valley.

The wine is a single-varietal Cabernet Franc sourced from a blend of fifteen different plots spread across Chacé, Varrains and Dampierre-sur-Loire, with vines ranging from 30 to over 90 years old planted on clay, limestone and sandy soils with tuffeau limestone subsoils.

The wine is then aged for 18 to 24 months in used oak barrels that have held between two and four previous wines, preserving the purity of the fruit and the identity of the terroir.

The 2020 vintage is considered one of the great recent vintages in the Loire Valley, producing wines with freshness, precision and remarkable ageing potential.
