Raúl Bello Maruxa Da Cotorra 2021 Red Wine
Raúl Bello Maruxa Da Cotorra 2021 is a red wine made by Raúl Bello in Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa, from a 65-year-old vineyard planted in bush vines on clay-limestone soils in the La Media Legua plot.
The wine is a field blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Viura. The grapes are hand-harvested, and the vinification combines destemmed grapes, 15% whole-bunch Tempranillo and approximately 10% directly pressed grapes, whose must is added to the rest of the fruit.
Fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. After 16–17 days of maceration, the wine is pressed and remains in stainless steel tanks for 16 days before being transferred to 400-litre Taransaud four-wine barrels, where it completes malolactic fermentation and is aged for almost 12 months.
