Mixtura 2021 White Wine
Mixtura Blanco 2021 is a white wine made by Gutier Seijo Otero under his Mixtura Independent Wines project, based in Esposende, Ribadavia (Ourense), Spain.
It is made from 55% Treixadura, sourced from the Avia Valley in Ribeiro, and 45% Albariño, from Valeixe, in the Condado do Tea subzone of Rías Baixas, and Melgaço, in Portugal. The vineyards are planted on granite-based soils.
The whole grapes are directly pressed and undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in Austrian Stockinger oak casks. The wine is then aged for 12 months on its lees in oak casks, followed by a further 12 months in concrete tanks, seeking to integrate the different origins while preserving the identity of each terroir.
