Bereche & Fils Rive Gauche 2022 Sparkling Wine
Bérêche & Fils Rive Gauche 2022 is a sparkling wine produced by Bérêche & Fils in Mareuil-le-Port, in the Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, France.
It is made from 100% Pinot Meunier, sourced from two plots, Maisoncelle and Côte aux Châtaigniers, with vines planted in 1969 on clay-marl soils containing sand, limestone and marine fossils. The vineyards are cultivated using environmentally respectful practices and low yields. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts takes place in 350-litre oak barrels, without malolactic fermentation.
The wine then undergoes secondary fermentation in bottle and spends 36 months ageing on its lees under cork. It is disgorged with a dosage of approximately 2 g/l, placing it in the Extra Brut category.
